| Tenants Forum |
The Tenants Forum was set up as part of a Government initiative to give council tenants more say on how their properties were managed, and what aspirations they have for the future of their homes.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of the Forum are as follows:
1. To improve communications between landlord and tenants, and visa versa.
2. To improve services offered to tenants by influencing decisions on housing
related matters.
3. To represent all tenants fairly and without bias in any form.
4. To participate in discussions with housing management teams regarding repair
and improvement programmes.
5. To increase tenant involvement, by visiting in person, or by phone, any
tenant who needs advice or assistance in solving housing problems.
6. To contribute to any long or short term changes in housing policies.
7. To inform all tenants of our goals and achievements.
8. To encourage more tenants to participate in the Forum in their own community.
THE FORUM
The Forum consists of an Executive Committee of 8 tenants as well as “Village
Voices”, these are tenants that are contact points for other tenants
in their locality. These Village Voices then pass the relevant comments on
to the Executive. If you would like to become a Village Voice please contact
the Tenant Participation Officer on 01449 727353.
THE TENANTS OWN MAGAZINE (TOM)
The Tenants Own Magazine is written by members of the Forum , and published
every 3 months, and it contains very useful information for all tenants.
MEETINGS
The Forum meets on the last Thursday of every month at the
Council Offices at Needham Market starting at 6.30pm. All tenants are most
welcome to attend, and travelling expenses can be reclaimed.
