Farnish House: A Sheltered Housing Complex, situated in a quiet location in the village and named after Nurse Alice Farnish MBE. Alice Farnish was born in 1900 and it is thought that she delivered more than 1000 babies during her long and dedicated nursing career,
Farnish House is
owned and managed by Mid Suffolk District Council and comprises 21 self-contained
one bedroom flats suitable for single people or couples. There are also
communal facilities - a lounge and kitchen, a laundry and a guest room.
A warden visits all the
residents each day and is on duty for 7.5 hours a day during the week. A
mobile warden is on duty at weekends and bank holidays. When the warden
is not on duty residents can summon help using the Contact Care alarm system.
Mid Suffolk
District Council is able to accept applications from anyone over 60, including
owner occupiers and people from outside
