St Botolph's CEVCP School
Head Teacher :

The school was opened in 1994 after the closure of two Victorian Schools that had served the combined communities of Botesdale, Hinderclay, Redgrave and the Rickinghalls for more than a 100 years.

Since then the school has grown to over 200 pupils, with children starting at the school in the Nursery as part-time pupils. There are 9 classes in the main school, starting with a Foundation Class for the new five year olds as they start full time school, through to parallel Year 5 & 6 classes providing the final stages of Primary education prior to transfer to Hartismere High School in Eye.

The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum, and whilst it is pleased with the levels of literacy and numeracy the children achieve, it is also proud of the developments in Art, Sports, Music and the wider areas of the primary curriculum that help to prepare children for life in the 21st century.

The school has become an established part of the village and has developed links with local churches, with the Twinning Association and its links to Tinteniac in France and with Farnish House which provides sheltered accommodation for the elderly. Events at the school such as the Christmas Fayre and the Summer Fete never fail to attract friends and neighbours from the local community.
